In 2003, Bob Lipp made a grand attempt to revitilize the glory of the Class D “Arizona-Mexico
League” of the 1950’s… a league which featured affiliated Minor
League teams and stadiums on both sides of the Az-Mex border. The new AZ-Mex League
began with tremendous fanfare but ultimately failed as league president Bob
Lipp could not get the owners behind his vision for the future of the league.
It was terrific to see Mexican and American teams and stadiums playing together
in the same league again… for the first time in nearly 50 years. Today Lipp
is working with the Pecos League to bring baseball back to historic Warren Stadium in Bisbee Arizona.. |
