Stockton California (California Sunbirds @ United Sports Complexes), Tucson Arizona (Arizona Heat @ Hi Corbett Stadium), Montclair New Jersey (New York/New Jersey Juggernaut @ MSU Softball Stadium at Montclair State) Houston Texas (Texas Thunder @ University of Houston Softball Stadium), Lowell Massachusetts (New England Riptide @ Martin Softball Field) and of course, the Akron Racers at Firestone Stadium. The Racers new season in the NPF, involved playing some great ball all season long as they
finished the season with a 39-21 (.650) record, finishing in 2nd place behind the Texas Thunder. Iyhia McMichael led the league in hitting with a .339 batting average and was 2nd in the league with HRs slamming 4, earning her the NPF MVP award. LSU's Trina Peel meanwhile led the NPF in HRs (5) and RBI (27). The pitching was great too as Radara McHugh went 12-4 with a 1.83 ERA. Brandee McArthur went 7-2 with a 1.17 ERA, Danielle Henderson went 4-1 with a 1.89 ERA and Nikki Myers went 11-7 with a 1.75 ERA. The Racers went to the playoffs against the NY/NJ Juggarnaut. The Racers lost the first game to the Juggernaut and were about to be eliminated. They needed to win that next game and the bad news was that Trina Peel's triple, would be the only hit that Akron would garner in that 2nd contest. The good news is... it was all they would need, as they won 3-1 on that one hit. In the 3rd and deciding game however, the Juggernaut's Courtney Scott hit a home run to beat Akron 3-2.
