Born on May 5th, 1927, Fans Field was the home for all professional Minor League
Baseball in this region for nearly 50 years. Fans Field held 5,200 fans when it
first opened and by the end of its lifecycle in 1974 that had risen to 5,700 with
the expansion of extra bleachers etc... according to Gord Brown (SABR-Ontario).
Gord Brown also noted that the ballpark was quite roomy at the corners at
340' to RF and LF but the fence in between those two foul poles was nearly squared
off with CF bowing out to just 373 feet. |
