Even with decent pitching and Jim Murphy playing good baseball, the team wasn't very
strong. The hitting was poor at best but the good pitching did help to keep
the team out of the basement. The Surrey Glaciers finished the season with a 38-52
(.422) record, as they finished 9 games behind the 1st place Bend Bandits
and in 3rd place ahead of the Grays Harbor Gulls. In the end, it was Long Beach
that would take over in the post season and record the WBL's first championship. |
