Like the ballpark, Bisbee stands remarkably similar to way it was almost 100 years ago. The city, once bustling with both decadence and culture was almost completely abandoned in the 70's when the mining companies closed. At one time, one of the biggest in America, Bisbee was completely forgotten and abandoned. While this may sound rather sad, it truly isn't. The town was so forgotten about, that nobody bothered to come and knock down any of the historical buildings for the sake of progress. All of the cultural centers, the stock exchange, the saloons, the homes and of course the ballpark, remain unchanged today. The city has since been taken over by artists, restauranteurs, and has even had a bit of a modern  "hippy movement".
