The Mariners gave some thought to moving to BC Place in Vancouver for the rest of
the season, but in the end decided to take to the road. The Mariners may have
been the only team to let out a sigh of relief when the 1994 strike came ending
the baseball season early. While nobody was injured from the initial incident,
tragedy would come to the Kingdome in August. A massive crane, brought in to fix
the ceiling tiles, came crashing down killing the two workers who were in the
bucket. A new stadium had gone from a matter if, to a matter of how and when. |
