In 1952, the Western Association decided to scale back from 8 teams to 6. The two teams dropped from the roster were the Enid Buffaloes and the St. Joseph Cardinals. This would bring a permanent end to pro baseball in Enid. Buffaloes Stadium was demolished soon afterwards. A beautiful new ballpark has since been built in Enid but it is dedicated to amateur baseball only, & a second one won't be built... so it is safe to assume that the 1951 Enid Buffaloes would be the last professional team for this city. Thanks to the David Allen Memorial Stadium staff for all of their hospitality. Make sure to see this musuem on your stop at "David Allen"... one of the must see ballparks in the U.S.
