Smith-Wills Stadium was built in 1975 and marked the return of professional baseball to Jackson Mississippi for the first time in 20 years. The last team to make Jackson MS home was the Jackson Senators who played at League Park in 1953 for the Cotton States League. (We're not sure exactly what happened to League Park and if you have the whereabouts of this stadium or the ones that preceeded it, please contact us). Smith-Wills Stadium is characterized by its unique overhang, and now by its new "real turf" artificial surface.
