The Jackson Senators of 2003 were a "veritable bunch of unknowns", but their pitching was fantastic. Ryan Creek (10-4, 2.66), Kenny Rayborn (10-2 2.27) and Mark Persalis (8-3, 2.70) led a stellar staff, that brought the Senators all the way to the Central Baseball League Championship, where they would take home their first CBL title. Fans were pretty excited about the team and suddenly, the Senators found themselves with 91,000 fans. Things were looking up again in Jackson. The Senators continued to pull in 72,000 fans in 2004 despite not making it to the Championship. Some dark clouds however started to roll back in for 2005, as the Texas League made an announcement.
