It was the end of a great 16 year marriage. The void would be filled by the Houston Astros who would move their Double-A team from Golden Park in Columbus Georgia. They had played there for 21 years, from 1970 until 1990. The new team was called the Jackson Generals. They were led in 1991 by Shane Reynolds (8-9, 4.47), Todd Jones (4-3, 4.88) and Catcher Tony Eusebio (.261). Eusebio would come back in 1992 and hit .307. The Generals didn't make the playoffs in their first 2 seasons. In 1993 however, Jackson was back on top of the Texas League with a 73-62 record.
