The 1942 season would turn out to be a big one for Shreveport. The team's allegiance with the White Sox brought in many good prospects, who led the team to 2nd place and the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row. With the White Sox backing however, they were a much stronger team in the post season, and won their first Texas League Championship ring behind the managing of Salty Parker. Unfortunately, the War would put a hold on the team as well as the entire league for 3 years. The Texas League returned with the Sports in 1946, as members of the Chicago White Sox organization.
