When the war came to an end, the Oilers picked up where they left off... as Texas League home to the Chicago Cubs. They would spend two more seasons as a Cubs franchise, finishing in 4th and losing in the first round of the playoffs both seasons. In 1948, a big change came as the Cubs moved out of the Texas League and the Cincinnati Reds took over. Led on the mound by future Reds pitcher Harry Perkowski, the team won 93 games but lost the T.L. championship in the final round.
