When the Las Vegas Wranglers first came to town, they didn't have a ballpark to play in. Instead they made use of the old Helldorado Grounds at the City Park. They would play there for their entire inaugural season while Cashman Field I was being built. By 1948, they would begin play in their new ballpark which was also dubbed Elks Stadium. Las Vegas would have a strong rival in northern Reno along with other Sunset League franchises in Mexicali Mexico, Riverside California, El Central California and Anaheim.
