Clark Griffith toured the available facilities at Catholic University in D.C. as well as Georgetown's layout.  Ultimately the Senators would settle in at the University of Maryland where they would spend the next 3 seasons training at this ballpark and at UM's indoor stadium "Richie Coliseum". The Senators were also allowed to utilize the campus' dormitories as well as student dining halls, so while this wasn't the gloriously warm Florida... and there would be plenty of snow in Washington's future... they had everything they would need to get through the spring right here at UM. They were also conveniently located only about 10 miles away from their home ballpark, Griffith Stadium.
