The ballfield and grandstand were completed in time for the beginning of the 1922 training season. The ballfield was a paradise for many players, as Catalina Island was and still is, considered to be a resort town. There was general admission bleacher seating along the 3rd baseline. The only "permanent seating" was in the small wooden grandstand on the 1st baseline, where this photograph was taken from.
