With Ban Johnson (Whittington) Park already training Pittsburgh and Chicago and a revolving group of other franchises, the Red Sox were left out of the loop and decided to go on their own to create the new Majestic Park. As you can see from these photographs, there wasn't much "Majestic" about this facility. It was more of an open field with some poorly put together bleachers. So poorly put together in fact, that the entire grandstand collapsed injuring the 200 fans that were sitting on it. and it had to be rebuilt. Eventually however this little ballpark would get a little bigger as the Red Sox became more accustomed to playing here every year.
