The St. Louis Browns had moved their spring training operations to Cape Girardeau Missouri because of travel restrictions from the war, but when peace came to the world, the Browns immediately headed for California to train for the 1946 season. They first took up residence at LaPalma Park in Anaheim California... a ballpark that remarkably still stands today. By 1947, the Browns moved to Tatum Park in Miami but were back in California for 1948, settling in at Perris Hill Park in San Bernadino.
