Olive Avenue Park Stadium (soon to be renamed Olive Memorial Stadium) was built in 1947 for youth and recreational baseball but for a short period of 4 years, the ballpark shone in the spotlight of Major League Baseball's pre-season. For those 4 seasons, Olive Memorial Stadium was said to be packed with fans, usually 2500 deep to see Major League Baseball come to California... something that had not happened yet for regular season baseball.
