The Stars came to be in 1985 when Joe W. Davis helped to build this new stadium with the intention of drawing a professional Minor League Baseball franchise. At the time, the Triple-A Evansville Triplets moved their operations to Nashville's Greer Stadium. However, there was already a team playing in Greer Stadium… a Double-A franchise. With "the Greer" officially being promoted to Triple-A, the displaced Double-A
team was sent off to find a new home… that new home was Huntsville.
