In 1960, the Lookouts switched away from the only affiliation they had ever known since 1930, and signed with the Phillies for 2 years. After 1961, the great Southern Association folded. The Phillies moved the Lookouts to the Southern League, where they continued with their affiliation til 1964. In 1965, the Phillies moved their affiliation to Macon, and Engel Stadium went dark. In 1976, the Oakland A's moved from Birmingham to Engel Stadium and the Lookouts were back in the Southern League. After 2 seasons, the Cleveland Indians came in for a 5 year span.
