Most of South Carolina including the government itself, claims this very stadium to be the oldest living minor league ballpark. We can trace minor league ball being played in this stadium, all the way back to the mid-1920's, which certainly makes this one of the grand ole stadiums of the game. We do however know that Cardines Field in Newport Rhode Island is the oldest park in America, with large sections of the RF and home plate grandstand dating back to 1887.
