So many people ask us why we have such rancor for many of the new "red brick, dark green seat retro ballparks" that litter this country. A "retro ballpark" in itself, is not such a bad idea. It's just that these new HOK ballparks are not retro. Not even a little. They're modern, sterile, "soul-less" stadia, that don't emulate any of the sentiment of the real vintage ballparks we've photographed... no matter how much red brick and dark green seats they use! This ladies and gentlemen... this is a retro ballpark. It's not sterile, it's not contrived... it's simple, it's bucolic, and it feels just like that handful of intimate post-WWI ballparks that still exist. This is Minor League baseball.
