The Anderson Braves would never field a great team. The highest they would rank is 5th place out of their 5 year history. They only finished above .500 once. The inaugural team however did feature one bright future superstar. Outfielder Brett Butler had been playing at Greenwood in 1979 and came to Anderson during the inaugural 1980 season. Butler would have 255 at bats with the Anderson Braves and put up some very impressive numbers. Butler hit .298 and stole 44 bases in only 1/2 a season before being promoted to Durham (where he would steal another 36... 80 total for the season) *
