Anderson Memorial Stadium (aka Legion Field) was built in 1970 to replace the aging Nardin Field. The ballpark was immediately put into service by the Single-A South Atlantic League, and served as a Minor League home for over 11 years. It was taken over by NCAA Division II Anderson University Trojans, after Minor League baseball left the park in 1984. It went without professional baseball for over 20 years until the Anderson Joes of the South Coast League made Anderson Memorial Stadium their home beginning in 2007.
