The old Greenville Municipal Stadium really wasn't that old. It was built in 1984 and could easily have been renovated to make it a perfectly usable ballpark once again. It had been used continuously from 1984 to 2004 by the Double-A Southern League's Greenville Braves who moved to Pearl Mississippi's new Trustmark Park. Greenville Municipal Stadium was built at a time when ballparks weren't built for beauty, they were built for practicality.
