Luther Williams Field is a historical ballpark built in 1929, originally for the
Southern League (then known as the South Atlantic League then renamed the Double-A
Southern League in 1962. Not related to today's Single-A South Atlantic League).
The ballpark has been the home of professional baseball for decades and has
featured some of the greatest players ever to take the field in professional
baseball. It has been the home to Single-A, Double-A and Independent baseball
since its inception. |
