We do know for certain that Legion Field was the home of the Greenwood Braves starting in 1968, after the Atlanta Braves moved their Single-A operations out of Lexington North Carolina's Holt Moffit Stadium in 1967. Greenwood would sign a very loyal 12 year PDC with the Atlanta Braves, and serve as their Single-A franchise until 1979. During that time, many future impact players would come to this ballfield beginning with the inaugural 1968 team. The Greenwood Braves would also find themselves near the top of their division quite often.
