In 1917, World War I had finally come to an end and to celebrate, Quebec City was
preparing to build a lavish sporting venue that would be home not only to horse
racing and other types of competitive events, but would serve as a home to burgeoning
sport of baseball. The Hippodrome was intended to be Quebec City's grand
sporting expo in the same way that Lansdowne Park had been received in Ottawa back in 1912. |
