While the Western Canada League was never an "approved Affiliated Minor League Franchise", it actually was. Enough so, that we can consider this to be the official home of the WCL Cardinals in 1963. The St. Louis Cardinals supplied the Lethbridge Cardinals with their players. The rest of the league meanwhile, was also supplied with un-official official affiliations. In other words, most clubs in the 4 team league were only allowed to feature players from their corresponding MLB franchise. Sounds like Affiliated Minor League Baseball to us.
