The western movement began in Lethbridge, Alberta at Henderson Stadium I during 1975. The Montreal Expos Rookie League franchise made the quaint wooden facility, its home for 2 seasons. Henderson Stadium I was built around 1949, and its first of two professional seasons started off with a bang as Andre Dawson led the Lethbridge Expos and the entire Pioneer League in home runs. Henderson Stadium I was torn down at the end of the 1976 season and replaced by a fully concrete structure, named after its predecessor.
