Kevin Seitzer would hit .341 for the Copper Kings in the last year of the Royals contract with Butte's Alumni Field. In the Royals 2 seasons with the Copper Kings, Butte would finish in 2nd place both times. When the Royals pulled out, they were replaced by the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners would only spend 1 year here, but that one year featured a future Major Leaguer by the name of Omar Vizquel. The famed shortstop was only 17 years old, and would play 45 at bats as a Copper King but still managed to hit .311 despite his teenage years. The Copper Kings would again finish 2nd.
