Now that they spent millions of dollars on a new ballpark, Edmonton expected to have Triple-A baseball forever. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The Pacific Coast League pulled out anyway, 10 years later… and said goodbye to Edmonton. Despite destroying their beloved John Ducey Park for the Pacific Coast League, Edmonton's very expensive Telus Field sat abandoned by affiliated Triple-A baseball. Edmonton's rival, Triple-A franchise Calgary Alberta, lost their team as well… as did Alberta's other two affiliated franchises, the Rookie teams of Medicine Hat and Lethbridge.
