When the PDC with Houston came to an end, the Zephyrs found themselves without the
tenant that they thought they'd have forever. The team underneath the Zephyrs,
Nolan Ryan's Double-A Round Rock Express had done so well, they'd actually passed
the Zephyrs in attendance. The Round Rock franchise was promoted to Triple-A,
and the Astros made the Dell Diamond their new Pacific Coast League home. The
Expos meanwhile had their Triple-A team in Edmonton. Once they moved out of
Canada and into the United States, the Expos no longer needed a Canadian Triple-A
team. |
