On the day that Seattle's Dugdale Park burned to the ground, Seattle Indians owner "Bald Bill" Klepper was unsure if Civic Stadium was even an option for him. There was a very good chance that the city would not allow him to into Civic Field (even temporarily) for their PCL franchise. While Klepper's "plan A" was to move the franchise here to this ballpark, his "Plan B" was to keep the team on the road for the rest of the season and then perhaps move the franchise elsewhere from there. "Plan C" (which might have actually secretly been "Plan A"), was to move the team to the Bay Area… perhaps in Oakland or even as far south as San Diego and get out of Seattle altogether.
