Civic Stadium would finally meet its demise in 1947 when the city deemed that it was a rather useless facility. The "ballpark" was demolished until nothing would remain of the home that for 7 years served as a replacement home for a ballclub who's life would completely change forever thanks to a serial arsonist named Robert Driscoll. Had the drifter who lived inside old railway cars not come and burned down old Dugdale Park... maybe Bald Bill Klepper wouldn't have had to play in this stadium and go bankrupt... and then perhaps, maybe Emil Sick would never have bought the ballclub and built the very successful Sicks Stadium in the ashes of old Dugdale Park.
