The Stars finally pulled out of LA in 1935, but not to come to Hollywood. They had instead, given up on L.A. and trying to be a second rate team without a stadium to call its own, and moved down the coast to San Diego to become the new Triple-A San Diego Padres. It looked as if the Stars had shown their last fading light. When the 1936 Pacific Coast League season began, the Hollywood Stars were nowhere to be found and the PCL went on without them. By 1937 they were all but forgotten.
