In the meantime, Earl Gilmore built Gilmore Stadium... a football stadium in 1934 as part of a complex that was to include restaurants and entertainment centers including drive-in movies, the most famous farmer's market in Hollywood and eventually ... a baseball stadium. Gilmore Stadium would become home to the Los Angeles Bulldogs... LA's first professional football team. Though the Bulldogs would never serve in the NFL, they would be part of the Pacific Coast Professional Football League (as well as several other football leagues as an independent team). Gilmore Stadium would however be the site of two NFL Pro Bowls and an NFL All-Star game.
