Then something rather odd happened... in 1919 the long awaited call from the Pacific
Coast League came in, requesting that Dugdale Park join their league of top
rated West Coast franchises. Dugdale Park already had commitments to play in the
Pacific International League however (which despite the similar moniker, was
two very separate entities). So interestingly enough ... two franchises would
again call this ballpark home simultaneously as the Seattle Giants continued to
play in the Pacific Coast International League for the next two seasons. An all
new and exciting team however called the "Seattle Rainiers" would take up in
the most respected league on the west coast… the Pacific Coast League. |
