For 2 decades Dugdale Park was home to all of Seattle's Professional Baseball, playing
in both the Pacific Coast League and the Northwestern League throughout much
of that time. The Pacific Coast League was rapidly gaining respect as one of
the top league's in the country, nearly on par with the American and National
Leagues. Today of course the PCL serves as one of the top 2 Triple-A level organizations
of the Minor League system. The Northwestern League exists today as
well as a Short-Season Single-A league in the Pacific Northwest, but this earlier
version of the NWL wasn't necessarily related to today's league. Back in the
days of Dugdale Park, the Northwestern League was ranked at "Class B" making it
nearly that of "Double-A" during that time. |
