Only a handful of dedicated Negro League Stadiums still exist in the world today (2 of them in New Jersey... Newark's Schools Stadium is the other). As this stadium was nearing demolition, and had become completely overgrown from years of abandonment, Hinchliffe found a new friend. They are known as the "Friends of Hinchliffe" whose sole or should we say "Soul" purpose, is to save this historical landmark. They have spent the last few years stopping the wrecking crews and chopping down the trees that had overgrown the stadium. There is so much left to be done, but know that it is being done.
