Veteran's Stadium came into play during the 1971 season, and replaced beloved Connie Mack Stadium. At the time however, these doughnut parks (as they became known), were pretty well received. The basic round design that was for the multipurpose use of baseball, football, concerts, etc... was also found, during the 70's-90's in St. Louis, Cincinnati, Atlanta and Pittsburgh. Towards the end of it's lifecycle, the Vet had been fixed up to the point that it was almost a decent place to watch a ballgame. Soon after the final touches on the Vet were completed however, it was demolished.
