There was a day when Mets players were trying to do their defensive drills before a ball game, but to no avail. The fog was just too thick. The noise of a jet plane overhead was drowning out the "I got its" as the players tried to feel their around in RF without hitting each other in the lack of visibility. The noise of the jet became deafening before suddenly appearing to the left of the giant scoreboard. The Mets ran for cover into the dugouts as fast as their feet could carry them. The plane managed to pull back and bank up around the scoreboard without incident, but it was a heart pounding moment for many Mets players, and a story that has interestingly disappeared from sight.
