In 1970, the Red Sox moved their Double-A operations to Pawtucket's McCoy Stadium (which is now the Red Sox' Triple-A). Wahconah Park signed a new PDC with the Washington Senators. The Senators would move in 1972 to Dallas, but Pittsfield would maintain their PDC with the new team and just rename themselves the Pittsfield Rangers. The "Maddog" Bill Madlock would come to Wahconah Park in 1972 and hit .328. The PDC with the Senators / Rangers would last 6 years until 1975, when the Brewers moved their AA from Thetford Mines to Pittsfield. For the first time, they weren't known as "Pittsfield" but instead were named the "Berkshire Brewers".
