Jim Bouton did finally get his Berkshire Black Bears to play at Wahconah Park for the indy Can-Am League from 2002 to 2003. They weren't the greatest team on the field however and by 2004 they had moved to New Haven's Yale Field and become the New Haven County Cutters. In 2004 Former Red Sox GM Dan Duquette attempted to place an NECBL Summer Collegiate League here in Wahconah Park and ran into the same resistance that Jim Bouton had found. The team had to play at Duquette's Sports Academy in nearby Hinsdale. Duquette's persistance paid off when the Berkshire Dukes moved to Wahconah Park and became the Pittsfield Dukes in 2005.
