You may not have realized this but almost every ballpark in the world faces east. Wahconah Park however, faces west. The reason why is very obvious in this picture. The setting sun blinds the hitter every night between 7 and 8 pm. Because of this, Wahconah Park is the home to the infamous "sun delay", which the umpire will call if the batter can no longer see the pitcher (or anything else after staring at the sun for too long). You see, Wahconah Park was built before lights were ever a consideration at a ballpark. Since there were only day games in 1919, blinding sunsets were never a problem... so there was no need for Wahconah Park to face east.
