Sadly there are hardly any pictures of the original grandstand as this is the only one we've ever been able to find. While you can't see the whole grandstand behind the plate, you can at least get an idea of what it looked like in the very first days of the Bend Rainbows. The Rainbows franchise was the Single-A home to the California Angels and featured future Manager Tom Treblehorn (4 HR, .242). 1970 featured the hot bat of Terry Thompson who hit 12 HR (which is excellent for a short season team). 1971 however featured the team's biggest star. Kurt Russell would bat .285 in his first Minor League season before leaving his bat behind to become a star of the big screen, starring in such movies as Escape From New York, The Thing, Tango & Cash, Backdraft, Forrest Gump, Vanilla Sky and most recently in Furious 7 and the Hateful Eight. Kurt Russell is married to Goldie Hawn.
