Though the team was known as The Veterans from their Major League studded lineup, The team also became better known as the "Vancouver Horse Doctors". This is certainly one of the more bizarre names in baseball history and this first team is equally listed under these two monikers throughout the history books. The Horse Doctors had moderate success in the Northwestern League but not enough to return to play in 1906. A new version of the Vancouver Horse Doctors (also known as the Vancouver Canucks) attempted to rise from the ashes in 1907 (again with the Class B Northwestern League). They were so awful with their 34-106 record however, that they too were gone by year's end.  Recreation Parks' 3rd new franchise… the Vancouver Beavers, would take in 1908 and would finally bring steady success.
