Bob Brown was securely in control of this team and he would do whatever he needed to do to guide this franchise to success. Part of that guidance would be to realize that Recreation Park was not going to be the long term solution of the Vancouver Beavers. Rumors that had begun floating back in 1909 that perhaps this team wasn't longed for this ballpark would in fact be true. A somewhat smaller but far more modern "ballpark" was awaiting the Beavers as soon as Bob Brown could secure the property. The Beavers meanwhile would change their name in 1912 to showcase their talents on the field… renaming themselves the Vancover Champions.
