Former home of the Gray's Harbor Ports
Loggers & Gulls
The 1995 entry into the WBL was typical of the former NWL ballclubs of Gray's Harbor... mostly mediocre. Again the team's downfall was its pitching which was simply awful... so much so that it wouldn't make up for the fact that the lineup was stocked with power hitters. The leader of the team was Paul Williams, who became the first professional hitter to ever hit more than 20 home runs in the spacious Olympic Stadium. Finishing the season with 22 HRs and 79 RBIs... Williams led the league in both categories. Joining him in the lineup was Steve Hendricks batting .284 with 23 2Bs and 17 HRs and Manny Gagliano with 27 2Bs and 16 HRs. Corey Paul also contributed with a .297 average and 9 HRs.
