There had been talk that Olympic Stadium had run its course and the sad thought that perhaps this "baseball cathedral" was at the end of its lifecycle, became the talk of city councilmen. Luckily one in particular was able to contact us in order to save this massive wooden stadium. Correspondence went back and forth to Washington D.C., and after digitalballparks was able to prove in conjunction with the councilman, that this is the largest wooden baseball park in the world... we were all able to celebrate it's official registration with a National Historical Marker.
